What is "SBR" ?

It is a styrene butadiene Rubber admixture that is designed as an integral adhesive for cement bond coats, mortars and concrete to improve bond strength , chemical resistance and increase strength for the concrete mixes .

Advantages and Usage :

1- Used as a bond material between old concrete and new concrete .

2- Used as an additive and admixture in cementitious system to improve compression and flexural  strength for concrete .

3-Bonding agent for slip bricks, ceramic tiles, screed, render, plasters and concrete .

4-Improved flexibility & reduced shrinkage.

5-Prolonged corrosion protection .

6-Highly resistant to water penetration.

7-Excellent adhesion to steel, concrete, bricks, glass, asphalt, wood .

When we adding SBR as a bond material between old concrete layer and new concrete layer the results shows increasing in compression strength and flexural strength . And improves bond strength to hardened new concrete .

Also the result of adding SBR to the concrete mixes by correct percent to the mixing water and correct ratio with weight of cement shows : increasing in compression strength , flexural strength and decreasing in absorption and initial , final setting time .
