For what?
Ryan Botner
Professional Speaker | Facilitator | Performance Coach | I help stressed out professional men and women connect their why with their way, so that they can start living a life of significance.
I recently had the opportunity to speak to a few of my coaching clients about living a life of significance and purpose. As we went through this topic, it seemed like the same two words kept coming up, and they were, “For what?"
Put another way, why do we do what we do? Are we doing things to build our empire? To give our kids a better life? To prove somebody wrong? By the way, all of those reasons will ultimately leave you feeling empty and meaningless at the end of your life.?
I often have to write down my priorities one by one. God is my number one priority. After that, everything else can align because He is the one who gives me a true purpose and helps me align with where He wants me to go in the future. I’m not leaning on my own understanding or my own selfish reasons for doing things.
You see, in my previous life, everything revolved around Ryan Botner—me, myself, and I. You know how I knew that? My priorities told me, and what I did throughout my day told me who I really cared about.
Maybe you are thinking your priorities are out of kilter. Perhaps it’s time you took a closer look at what you are doing and for what you are doing those things.?
Working on priorities is not something you do only once a year or even once a week. Maintaining the right priorities in life is accomplished by keeping them at the forefront of your mind every day.?

I urge you to make a list of your top four or five priorities right now. Post them in a place where you can look at them every day for one week. Ask yourself questions such as these: Am I happy? Am I balanced? Is what I am doing working for me?What’s my next step? What do I want, and why do I want that?
Once you have established your priorities, take time to update them regularly. Share them with your family, and ask someone whom you trust to hold you accountable for consistently living them out.
I’d love to assist you in establishing your priorities. It all starts with asking yourself the question, “For what?”. Let’s connect soon!
BE INTENTIONAL!
