What Are Roofing Blisters and Why Do They Occur?

Roof blisters appear when moisture or air is trapped beneath the layers of roofing or shingles themselves. As the temperature increases, the pressure forces the air or moisture to expand; the asphalt will begin to weaken, and a blister eventually forms.

Over time, these blisters can allow high levels of moisture or rain to seep below the surface, which creates more blisters and more issues with the roofing system. Blisters can be fixed, but they must be addressed as early as possible.
