What is the role of technology in supporting employee experience?

We’ve just wrapped up Series 21 of the Digital HR Leaders Podcast at Insight222, which was kindly sponsored by talent experience platform 365Talents . While the conversation with each of the five guests explored different topics, the one common question for each episode was: What is the role of technology in supporting employee experience?

A summary of each episode together with associated links is provided below – and please feel free to add your own thoughts on the question for the series in the comments section below: What is the role of technology in supporting employee experience?

EP1: JASON AVERBOOK - How to Build Great Employee Experiences

In the first episode of the series, I was joined by Jason Averbook, CEO and Co-Founder at Leapgen, and one of the leading global authorities on HR technology and employee experience.

In our conversation, Jason and I discuss:

  • Why building trust and understanding how people feel is so important when designing employee experience
  • Why it’s so important to understand an individual’s purpose and how they want to work, so you can design solutions that meet them where they are and where they’re going
  • The role of data and technology in helping organisations to understand and measure employee experience
  • Examples of how companies are building great employee experiences

EP5: ISABELLE CHAPPUIS AND GABRIELE RIZZO - What Will the Future of HR Look Like in 2030?

In the final episode of the series, my guests were Isabelle Chappuis and Gabriele Rizzo, authors of an enlightening new book: HR Futures 2030 - A Design for Future-Ready Human Resources . Throughout our conversation, Isabelle (an economist, and Executive Director of the Swiss Center for Positive Futures at HEC Lausanne) and Gabriele (a futurist who advises governments on strategy, technology and convergence) run through their 10 traits for the future of work in HR and cover some of the key disciplines that HR leaders will need to consider to be successful in 2030 and beyond.

Isabelle, Gabriele, and I also discuss:

  • Why “foresight thinking is a critical muscle every HR leader should develop” and how techniques from the world of defence can be used in HR and in business to provide a strategic advantage
  • The importance of topics such as trust, community, digital, and sustainability, to organisations of the future
  • Three of the ‘22 New and Growing HR Disciplines’ highlighted in their book. The first is called, ‘Know Your Employee’. The second is focused on the newly blurred lines between work and life. And the third is a fascinating new area called ‘HR Hacktivism’.
