What is a Really Popular Activity During January and March?

At first, you probably thought it was an easy answer. New Year’s Resolutions but then how does March fit it? It doesn’t because that’s not the answer.?The answer is that January and March are the most “popular” months for divorce.?(By popular, I mean strictly by the number of couples divorcing, not popular because it’s a fun activity.)??Experts point to multiple reasons; it is believed people wait until the holidays are behind them to proceed. Others think, “New year, new start,” and begin the process in January. March seems to be included due to how long it takes to finalize a divorce. Some states require a legal separation first. In other states, it just takes that long for the paperwork. What is begun in January often ends in March.?So both month rank as?#1?and?#2?for the number of divorces.
So now that we’re in April, if, unfortunately, 2023 started with a divorce for you, I’d like to remind you that if you’ve not updated (or created) your estate plan, now is the time to do so, especially if you have minor children. I would be honored to help you with that.?
