What Will Really Change?

What Will Really Change?

It’s been a challenging time no doubt… and living in the age of mass information overload yet no concrete facts and uncertainty don’t help!

What we do know is that going through a pandemic and putting our professional/social life on pause will affect what’s to come and that’s a fact, but how will it really change?

We have reached out to our industry, candidates, and clients – extensive surveying which resulted in viable results where we are starting to see a realistic vision of what’s ahead…

PERSONAL

From a survey conducted with over 1000 members, Protein Agency has shortlisted the following outcomes.

PROFESSIONAL

Employees will be more likely to join a brand that believes in eco-friendly/flexible hours/supportive management that put wellbeing first rather than profit. We have managed to push through years of work in a few months where employee happiness will determine the company’s success!

WHAT WILL THIS MEAN FOR BUSINESS

The Hospitality businesses will have to adapt/revaluate and reconnect with their consumers. As the industry will slowly reopen and the risk gets lower there is no doubt that it will thrive. Initially, the focus will be on the smaller/ private/ open spaces and as the public becomes more comfortable and confident in the hospitality operators we will see it much busier.

Here is some insight we have from some industry leaders…

MANAGEMENT

"Just as Government was looking to see that employers were treating their staff properly on furlough, coming out of a dormant state, employers will be looking for their teams to mobilise quickly and will be thinking that pre-Covid, it was a very much an employer rich environment and scarcity of employees. We now have the complete opposite, so senior managers looking to drive change and efficiencies will be thinking about whether they have the right team to deliver, to be innovative and flexible to deliver the work in hand" Michelle Michael - Venue Seekers

FUTURE LEADERSHIP

What are their qualities?

Brave, innovative, empathetic, decisive, inspirational, gravitas.

Which behaviours will employers be looking for?

Optimism, practical, resilient, creative, uncompromising.

Will employers be more open to looking outside of the sector?

I’m sure there are many transferable skills from outside the sector, but engagement and hospitality are at the heart of every transaction.

I hope that we can all navigate this emotional and turbulent period and return wiser, ready to provide warm, memorable experiences that capture the magic of eating and drinking out and socialising with those we love. It would be devastating for our business to lose businesses, brands, and industry talent to this awful pandemic, and return with a guest experience that is more clinical than hospitable. Andrew Kemsley, Founder, and Director – 10 Hospitality

COREcruitment are industry specialists, so instead of shutting our doors, we’ve decided to provide a voice and a social platform for our clients and candidates, we have managed to bring some of the most insightful leaders to our industry webinars – it was the least we could do. Moving forward as a business, even we understand that recruitment will have to change, so we have remodeled our terms to become more adaptable and extremely flexible to suit everyone’s business needs.
