What is Public Adjusting and Why You Need to Know

The question I get asked most often in regards to my Arizona Public Adjusting license is, "what is it you do?" It's a great question as most people are unaware that services to protect the home owner exist when a catastrophic event occurs at your home (water, fire and wind are common). Couple that with the "sudden and accidental" nature of an insurance loss and you have a perfect storm in which to be taken advantage of by your insurance carrier.
Two things to remember: 1) Once you report a loss to your insurance company, you are dropped into a "claim adjudication" process that is aimed at a) minimizing or denying the loss all together in b) the shortest amount of time possible. A question I always ask my clients is, "Have you read through your entire insurance policy?" Unfortunately the answer to this question is often a giggle and emphatic "no".
This is where Public Adjusting comes in to play. As a licensed public adjuster for the State of Arizona I work with homeowners and business owners that have suffered a sudden and accidental loss due to fire, water or wind to hold your insurance company to the definition of indemnity, or pre-loss condition. I understand the nuance and complex wording that makes up your insurance policy. Typically we are able to maximize claim payments in excess of 100-200% of the insurance company adjuster's original bid or estimate. Many times we are able to overturn a "coverage denial" which results in monies being paid to the homeowner vs repairs to be made on the homeowner's own dime.
If you have personally suffered a loss due to a covered event at your home or business, give me a call or shoot me an email to go over the details. My services are 100% performance and contingency based which means our services cost you nothing up front and our fees are taken out of the insurance company checks and proceeds. If you or someone you know finds yourself in a position of panic due to an occurrence at your covered property, we are here to help and represent you through the entire insurance claim process.
