WHAT IF POLICE CARS HAD AFFIRMATIONS ON THEM? (C) 2022 Wayne D. Lewis, Sr.
What if Police Cars had positive sayings across the back of their units such as:???
“Today is going to be my best day ever!”?Or,??
“I’m going to succeed, come what may!” Or,??
“Failure is not an option!” a Gene Krantz, Apollo 13,???
What would it do for a young person, or a community to get a fleeting glimpse of positiveness on the side or back of our various police units??While it is fair to say that police cars come under the category of tools and equipment for enforcing laws, who says that they cannot be used as tools and equipment for motivating a community to pursue their goals and dreams??Is it worth considering??Is it worth a trial approach, where our law enforcement partners have a role in motivating our communities, in addition to making our communities feel safe????
The upshot of police cars having positive sayings stenciled on them would be that they would not be the only publicly owned, or public-private based vehicles that would play a role in automotive motivation. Affirmations would do an outstanding job if they were also stenciled on:?
The more we can expose our community’s?families to positive messages, the greater the opportunity we have of saving those who believe that suicide is the best alternative to making their life the best it can be.?
?Where Can We Find Affirmations??
Below are 3 links that could help identify the types of affirmations that can be tailored to our various situations.?Each department could have a special committee dedicated to determining what message they would like their respect vehicles to convey. A parked vehicle or a vehicle standing at a red light, with a positive message could potentially help someone who is feeling depressed, or distraught. No telling what it could do for those who are likely to initiate a road-rage activity.
Here are those 3 links:

These are just examples.?You are encouraged to search further as you seek out affirmations that you believe would help a family member, or friend who shares with you, that they are considering self-harm.??
In Conclusion?
?This proposed E-Book constitutes a conversation starter.?You are welcome to share your experiences, thoughts or whatever makes you feel comfortable.?Don't feel compelled to begin the discussion in this forum. You may want to meet with someone whom you trust, emphatically. You may want to use anyone of these 11 articles as a guide. You may want to start a group and point the drawbacks of these articles, and what you would change. Getting input, or providing feedback is just the beginning to making a difference not only in our lives individually, or for someone whom we love and care for.

This conversation starter is inspired by actual events.?Events where families have lost loved ones who have taken their own lives.?The loss of a loved one is difficult to say the least. For a family to have to lose someone without any indication that something is no doubt painful.?
We have to get beyond a point in our lives where we don’t have to wonder what we could have done to save a life, but what we can do, right now! We have to get ahead of the point in our lives where those who are even thinking about taking their lives, can feel like they can share with anyone of us what they are going through, and we can make positive affirmations, while directing them to call #988lifeline, or #911dispatcher. It maybe as little as a few words, accompanied a call for help, but also a winning attitude that convinces a family member or friend that this is what winning looks like, when #everyonemotivatesone.
We owe to the many who are thinking about suicide, or taking their lives, or what is politically correct to say, to do something radical to catch their attention. We owe it to them to put as many positive messages in as many places that will allow for a positive message to not only be read, but be shared and discussed, at any time. Whether that message is on a police car or a sanitation truck, the impact has to be unmistakable. We who believe that we can make a difference in any way possible to not only save a life, but to save a community, would openly embrace any opportunity to say something and to discuss something that empowers others to pursue their excellence, as well as their greatness. We have the power! We are capable! #eachonemotivateone
We owe it to those who bring themselves before us, the opportunity to continue to pursue the very best that life has to offer, "so that no matter where they go, or no matter who they're with, or no matter what amazingly, extraordinary accomplishments they achieve, by the Grace of God, we'll all do it to win!" (from Back To School Affirmations by Wayne Lewis).

If the worse that can happen here, is that someone steps forth and calls 911, or calls 988, or takes a loved one by the hand and ask them to go with them to get help, we have done a lot.?If nothing else, we want those 11 minutes from 2020 to be extended into a well-lived life for everyone.???
