What Is The Point Of It All
What is the meaning of life? I often find myself pondering this question, my thoughts spiralling like a hurricane. The universe is vast and reminds me of my own insignificance.
In the Grand Scheme of Things
Imagine, if you will, that life is a grand theatre. We, the players, step onto the stage, our roles scripted by fate or chance. The audience? Perhaps cosmic beings, sipping celestial tea, amused by our trivial pursuits. We dance, we stumble and recite our lines, all while the audience stay amused, pointing at each of us, different characters and muttering how funny or stupid or silly an act of ours is.
“Why bother?” I wonder!
The Absurdity of It All
Life’s absurdity mocks us. We chase promotions, accumulate possessions, fight over equality and fret over wrinkles and ageing. Yet, in the grand cosmic ledger, our achievements amount to nothing. The universe yawns, indifferent to our accolades. “Congratulations,” it murmurs, “you’ve unlocked the ‘Midlife Crisis’ achievement. Enjoy your existential anxiety.”
The Fleeting Moments
But wait! Amidst the cosmic indifference, there are moments—fleeting, delicate, like a ballet dancer swirling through a field of dandelions. The laughter of a child, the warmth of a baby’s touch, the taste of freshly baked bread. These are the moments that defy the void.
Live in the present,” I tell myself. “Savour each laughter, each embrace from my young children, each bad joke from a friend. For in these fragments, in these moments, we find eternity.
The Art of Memory-Making
And so, I am INTENTIONALLY embarking on a quest to create memories.
Breakfast in bed with the kids
Spend time with friends. Laugh, Have banter, Laugh more
Reading bedtime stories as a family

Building a tent out of blankets and pillows

Family cooking or baking together in the kitchen
Having a dance party in the living room
Going on nature walks as a family
Documenting special moments through photos & videos
Being present for my parents
Playing hide-and-seek with children
?
In Conclusion
So, my fellow players, let us embrace the paradox. Baffled by life’s meaning, let us glide through existence, collecting INTENTIONAL memories because ultimately, that is all we have control over

5 个月Great article Enoch! I really enjoyed reading it! In my opinion and I could be wrong. Life is about becoming, expressing, and experiencing through Choice. A good quality life would be where someone has happiness and fulfillment. You can be happy but not fulfilled and fulfilled but not happy. Also unhappiness can lead to unfulfillment and unfulfillment can lead to unhappiness. Happiness is an output of appreciating what you have. Gratitude. Fulfillment comes from growth and having a sense of direction. Purpose. Life is present continuous. It's only happening now. Anything outside now is no more life. It's either a memory or imagination. It's more a reflection of our selective attention than life itself.
You are here to fulfil a purpose and that will be different for everyone, but the top line is, you are here to make a positive difference to The World around you and glorify God.
