Hello friends.Today I want show you the knowledge of the piston rings.
Generally, a piston has three piston rings.Top ring,Second ring and Oil ring.
The top and second rings are responsible for pressing tightly against the cylinder wall and sealing the combustion chamber, keeping combustion gases in and oil out.?
The oil ring scrapes oil off the cylinder wall on the way down the cylinder, depositing it back into the oil sump.
All of there rings have another function. They act to carry heat away from the hot piston into the cooled cylinder wall/block of the engine. Heat energy flows from the piston groove into the piston ring and then into the cylinder wall, where it eventually will be transferred into the engine coolant.
In generally. The role of the piston rings are to transfer heat, clean the combustion chamber and seal.
Hope it can let you know the piston rings better.Thank you.
