What Is The ONE THING That All Successful People Need?
Forget about luck or motivation — the one thing that all successful people have is persistence.
It’s arguably the most important trait that you can have as an entrepreneur or professional, and it’s also important in other areas of your life.
I have worked as an e-commerce consultant for many years. I have created many businesses, worked with countless more, and in that time, I have spoken with and worked alongside numerous millionaires, billionaires, and people who are immensely respected in their fields.
All of those individuals were persistent. They refused to give up, regardless of how difficult things were and how bleak things seemed.
Not convinced?
In the following sections, I’ll show you why persistence is an important trait and why it could be the thing that determines whether you succeed or fail.
The Reason Everyone Isn’t Successful
I am a big advocate for education. I believe that learning is imperative for every profession. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, and what you know — you need to keep learning if you want to succeed.

The answers are out there as truly successful people are more than happy to share their stories.
But if that’s the case, then why isn’t everyone successful? After all, in?my guide to launching a successful business in 2021 , I explain everything that you need to be successful and I’m confident that it is a foolproof strategy.
But if it’s that easy, why isn’t everyone successful? Why do so many startups fail?
It all comes down to persistence.
The reason most people fail when the successful techniques are laid out in layman’s terms is that they give up at the first sign of difficulty.
They quit when they don’t immediately become massively successful millionaires. They quit when times get hard or when their hard work doesn’t immediately pay off.
Take personal branding as an example.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve advised people on how to grow a personal brand. It’s a topic that I raised several times in my podcast, including?in an interview with Brittany Krystle .

They try, they fail, and then they come back to me and wonder what went wrong.
I usually hear something like:
“I spent so much time and money creating the perfect video. It looked great. It was original. But it didn’t go viral!”
Or…

“I tried my best for 4 weeks. I posted every day, but it just didn’t happen. I’m clearly not lucky enough”.
In a world obsessed with quick fixes and instant results, we all expect things to happen immediately. We also expect our hard work to be instantly repaid. But that’s not how the industry works.
But if you persist and keep posting that content, you will get there eventually. It won’t take weeks, it might not even take months, but persistence will get you there eventually and the same applies to all other areas.
If you really want to succeed in your chosen field, you will keep doing it. It’s what you love, it’s where your passion lies, and that should be enough to drive you forward and keep persisting even when it seems like the universe is conspiring against you.
Don’t Believe Everything You See
If success is all down to persistence, then what about the people who have success served to them on a silver platter?

You see them on social media all of the time. They flash their cash with jewelry, big houses, and fancy cars, and they’re often in their late teens or early 20s, suggesting that they couldn’t have been persisting for very long.
But it’s important not to believe everything you see on social media.
Firstly, a lot of these people are fake. They buy likes and followers, show off rented items, and pretend to be more successful than they are. It’s all a ruse to convince you to buy into their courses and believe their hype. Secondly, while some of them might be real, that doesn’t mean they earned their money by working hard and following whatever “strategy for success” they are selling. There have been numerous instances in which so-called “successful influencers” have been outed as rich kids relying on trust funds and the Bank of Mom and Dad.
There’s nothing wrong with that on the surface, but it becomes a problem if they claim to have made that money through techniques that they are selling to you.
Finally, while it can seem like someone has had overnight success, you don’t know the full story. You can’t see all of the work that goes on behind the scenes and you don’t know how hard they have worked over the years.
Don’t believe everything that you see on social media and don’t use those cash-flashing, Rolex-wearing influencers as your role models.
Learn from Artists
Ask any author, painter, poet, actor, director, and musician for their advice and they will all tell you to keep going and never give up.

It sounds trite, but it’s true. For every artist who becomes an instant hit after writing their first book or song, there are a thousand others who get there after countless rejection letters, pub gigs, and hard work.
Of course, when it comes to creative fields, it’s not all about persistence and you also need a little luck and a lot of talent, but you can increase your luck by working hard and you can improve your skills by practicing your trade.
Entrepreneurs can learn from artists. They know better than anyone that good things come to those who wait and success is all down to persistence.
