What One Man Can Do With His Dreams

When I was a child, I loved swimming in the sea, and in my early teens I use to get up early in the morning to ride my bicycle from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, a thrilling four-to-five-hour trip just to have a swim and then ride back.?On the way to the beach, I would ride through the botanical garden, my love of nature always took me through the Durban Botanical Garden, it was a magical place where my vivid imagination took over.
As I drove through the gates of the garden, my bicycle miraculously turned into a beautiful white stallion, I was the king riding through my spectacular garden and the houses on the hill were part of my palace.?The repeated trips to the beach and back must have imprinted this dream in my subconscious.??
“There is one quality one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose,? the knowledge of what one wants?and a burning desire to possess it.” ~ Napoleon Hill
At the age of thirty-six I moved to Gauteng with my late wife Val and bought a piece of dry veld and proceeded to plant thousands of trees and build the home of my dreams.?I had no building skills and very little money, but I had a dream. We camped on the riverbank and dug a whole for a loo and washed in the river.?I collected seeds and slips everywhere I went and started to grow my garden. I learned to make bricks using the aggregate from the land and built my home one room at a time.?
As soon as the roof was up in the first room we moved in and lived in a building site for many years. It took courage and perseverance, my sweat and blood are?in every brick, but it was not negotiable. I knew that if I has the capacity to imagine it, I had the ability to manifest it.?I understood that dreams and desires were given to us for our growth and evolution and that our imagination was the first creative step.
I had faith that if I did my part the universe would come to the party?and partner with me to make my dream come true, and it did. I enjoyed the challenges I faced, I had to dig deep and become resourceful, when I did not know how to take the next step, I trusted that the work would teach me how and without fail the solution would emerge.?
It has been an amazing adventure;?I even learned to make furniture, cupboards, doors, kitchen etc… made many mistakes and learned so much about myself. The cherry on the cake was the finishes touches which allowed me to?give full expression to my creativity by adorning the walls of my home with my paintings and photography.?When our?home was completed, I missed the thrill of creating, so I built the training centre.
Most trees in the garden has a story and there are many who have grown to giant size, we live in a forest where an abundance of various species of bird life have made their home. Everyone who comes for training marvel at the peace and serenity, and many also comment on how lucky we are to live in such a magnificent environment.?As Val use to say LUCK stands for?Labour Under Correct Knowledge.
And all this happened while I was building?TAG Training International, inspiring others to live a joyful, meaningful?life, to reach?for?their greatest potential?and realize?their dreams. Creating a pathway for people to be their exceptional self by overcoming their self-imposed limitations and expressing their gifts and talents in service to their world...
