But What If No One Buys My Black Friday Offer?

But What If No One Buys My Black Friday Offer?

One of the things that I've been hearing a lot as I've been telling people they need to get their Black Friday offers out there ready to go is, “But what if I put a Black Friday offer out there and nobody buys?”

My answer is “So what?”

I don't mean this harshly.  When I say “so what” I mean the important part is that you took control and put yourself out there and you did it!

You can't make people buy, but nobody is going to buy if you don't have a Black Friday offer out there for them to see.  I want to encourage you to try selling something if you haven't done it before. This is your opportunity to just play with it to try it out and see how it works.  There are so many things you can get out of it even if nobody buys.

  1. You're raising your visibility.  You're going to be sending out emails. You're going to post it on social. You’re going to go live talking about it.  You can play around with trying Facebook ads. You are going to practice putting together a sales page and creating a payment link. You're going to be doing all of that and people are going to see that activity.  So maybe they don't happen to buy your offer this time around but now they know what it is that you do and the kinds of things that you offer. If they do need it down the road you're going to be on their mind.
  2. You’re ready for next year.  Usually, if you are going to do a Black Friday sale,  you want to have it ready to go (emails, ad copy, sales page) by the third quarter of the year or maybe even in the second quarter.  if you are just now starting, think of it as getting an almost 12-month head start on Black Friday for next year! Take time now to get your emails written, create that sales page, and design your social media posts.  Next year, you can rinse and repeat that same content, because I guarantee you most people are not going to remember verbatim the wording of this year’s Black Friday offer 12 months from now!
  3. You’re creating a flash sale.  The final reason that you want to go ahead and put this out there now is that the structure of a Black Friday sale is the same as a flash sale.  Think about it - that's basically what Black Friday is - it's a flash sale that everybody's having at the same time. So the same process you are using to create your Black Friday sale, can be used to hold quick 3 or 4 day flash sales throughout the year.

It’s never a waste of time to put together a Black Friday sale.  Push past the “someday” mentality of “someday” I’ll have a Black Friday offer, “someday” I’m going to put all those pieces together, because that “someday” is going to keep you keep you frozen. I want you to take a step toward your own future; toward your own success. Put something out there and just see how it goes.   Don't get too caught up in the consequences, enjoy the process and the journey! I'm here to help you if you have any questions.
