Dear friends and colleagues,

This is the third and last part of the "Now what?" series. The prime reason for this three-part series is based on questions about the models of systems surrounding us: firstly and more than ever, we have to acknowledge that technology has swung us towards centralization in the last decade. During the pandemic, highly regulated industries like health care were open to addressing barriers like privacy concerns for much-needed services like telehealth visits.?

The ongoing reality with COVID-19's global management demonstrates that well-architectured digital experiences offer an equivalent or more personalized transaction than an in-person engagement. But the age of insecurity has also reached a tipping point: it has prompted a predictable backlash from citizens unhappy about the rising cost of living, falling living standards, and rising inequality.

1.1—Last week's recap in a picture "Sustainability vs instability":

What now?"Sustainability vs. instability"—Part 2/3—The Road to Sustainability April 11, 2022

A company's overall sustainability performance results from a complex set of decisions and behaviors made by groups and individuals within and outside the company. Lately, thinking and proactively acting on sustainable finance has become even more pressing for companies looking to release better growth and improve their post-pandemic productivity.

The overwhelming weight of research indicates that companies that prioritize environmental, social, and governance concerns do not experience a drag on value creation—quite the contrary.

1.2—Preamble:?Now what?—Part 3/3:?causes vs. effects

“Companies can’t imitate other ways to sustainability because they can only copy the effects, not the causes.”—Yael ?

Deliberate policy choices have shaped the existing models of globalization. What comes next also seems to be shaped by the same frameworks. What is needed now is to build from the ground up a world economy to protect citizens better as businesses are becoming distributed as more enablers and maintainers can access low-cost technological tools, embedded finance, and global markets.

While incumbent organizations may serve a particular group well, they are unlikely to reach the far broader populations that would be satisfied by more straightforward offerings. The majority of them are now focusing on innovation to address social large issues. However, before getting started, they must answer two seemingly simple but complex questions: where are we and where do we want to go??

The sustainability investment part in advanced capital markets is pushing further companies towards highly complex commodity management processes. This is what it is now the time to assess the causes and the effects for the global purpose.
