It has been almost 3-months since I posted and discussed Dana White’s ?bold, eye-catching statement. “MMA is going to be the biggest sport in the world. Bigger than soccer, bigger than NFL, bigger than anything out there” – January 23, 2009. And I continuously seek the deeper meaning behind those words to unravel Dana’s vision for MMA.?

Without a doubt, Dana White is one of the most prominent figures in the world that significantly led to the worldwide growth of MMA. Unfortunately, even after 15-years, Dana’s statement seems to remain unpromising. But Dana’s statement became an inspiration to many unknown founders/creators who believe MMA will be the biggest sport in the world.

But after witnessing the most awaited intriguing MMA event of the year, “PFL champs vs. Bellator champs”, it left many with mixed reactions. Personally, I believe it was anti–climactic and did not have the impact it was intended to have. However, it raises the question - what could be better and bigger than PFL champs vs. Bellator champs??

How can MMA become the biggest sport in the world???

Ted Leonsis, CEO of Monumental sports, and Entertainment said, “If you try to do what the giant did, you'll always be number two. If you learn what they did well and come at it with new things in mind, you can do something good.”? UFC is the giant that will always remain on top, as long as any other competitors follow their format.

Let’s take a look at the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khaled Bin Hamad Al Khalifa. “Transforming the sport of mixed martial arts into a truly global sport”. Uniting nations through the celebration of competition and creating opportunities for athletes from around the world. This is an interesting and exciting view, but the biggest challenge is how to transform MMA into a “truly” global sport???

Creating something new in mixed martial arts is a great challenge within itself. The first step is to have a leader who shares their visions and messages about the sport we all cherish. We all know the excitement and thrill the NFL brings us with 2 conferences: the American Football League (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). The 16 teams in each conference are split into the East, North, South and West divisions, and every division has four teams. Every division gives us a different level of excitement, and surprises that makes football fans follow and support their teams. Can you imagine what MMA has in store to have conferences similar to the NFL??

How to incorporate the idea of NFL conferences into mixed martial arts??

The idea of adopting NFL conferences to MMA has been accomplished for quite some time now. Unfortunately,? the founder/creator of MMA World Championship League is unknown, lacking resources, without connections and resources.
