What Newbies Need Know About Book Publishing...
First, let me tell you a story...
He was eight and young and he just wanted to write stories. He's seen books get published with wonderful book covers and hopes his join the number as soon as possible. So, he continued writing as he hoped and waited for the day mom and dad would schedule an interview with a publisher to consider his beautiful work of art as a next major contract, but that day never came.
Well, years later (about ten years after), he was introduced to Amazon Kindle as a book publishing system for writers and authors and while it should have been a major breakthrough for him, he's not really made an edge yet having been devoid of crucial knowledge back then.
Well, this boy is me, Denu Vour Bon, and the tips I'm about to give you are very good to be noted now that you are just getting started with the field of publishing, perhaps, you are about to publish a great book.
Without much ado, these tips include:
- Publish your book before it gets published
You may begin to wonder what I mean by that. I simply refer to either setting your book for pre-order ever before you finish writing your wonderful book. Whether it's on Amazon Kindle or the Barnes and Noble, having your book on pre-order helps do two things.
One, it usually enhances your commitment to the writing process and fight writer's block to a great extent since you now follow a deadline for actual launching.
Two, if you are the wise author, you will know that assuming maximum responsibility over the eventual success, in terms of sales, of your book is your absolute duty; making your book available for pre-order gives you ample time to market your book hard before launch date as well as to build enough traction and marketing data/plan for your launching and post-launch.
- Build a following of people who care about your book
Thanks to the internet, this is so easily achieved. You need to get on a social platform and start posting content around your book's scope/storyline e'er before it goes live. Another important thing to note here is each social media platform has it's own niche or area of specialization and choosing the right platform for your content creation is key to the overall success of your book on launch date and beyond.
For me, and my book - Viral Author Blueprint (kindle format available here), LinkedIn seems to be the best gig to garner serious folks. Yours, Instagram might be the best or Facebook, or even Snapchat. The key is you find the best social media platform that well suit your book's idea and start building content right away with a most definite CTA to go pre-order!
These two tips are very important to note down.
