It’s been a very, very long time since I’ve been putting thought to digital page. I’m so glad to be back focusing on the Wednesday wISDom articles. Like many of you, the pandemic created so many impacts to personal and professional life. Not to go into it here, but working 12-18 hour days for months straight once the pandemic hit in early 2020, to significant changes in personal and professional lifestyles in mid to late 2020, to impacting lives and personally losing loved ones in 2021 have definitely created different outlooks on life for me.
As the world continues to deal with additional spikes and the return to work for those who were able (and fortunate) to telework, much confusion and anxiety still exists about what the “new normal“ will look like (though admittedly, I hate that term).
I recently read a great article by futurist Mike Walsh. I’ve had the fortune of seeing him speak in person (wow, remember those days??) a couple of times and I’m always fascinated by his thoughts on the future. As I get back into the rhythm of writing, I wanted to begin by sharing his insightful article on the “10 New Rules for a New World.”

Walsh's perspective reminds me of something I learned in my Christian faith: We have to experience seasons of change to grow and move forward. Winter brings death and dying in nature, yet the spring that follows creates an abundance of growth and beauty. As hard as it is to look back at the winter we’ve been experiencing, we do need to remember that a new bountiful spring is coming.?
