What is The NEW Normal?

"Our pre-corona existence was not normal, other than we normalized entitlement, greed, inequality, exhaustion, depletion, extraction, disconnection, confusion, rage, hoarding, hate & lack. We should not return, my friends. We are being given the biggest opportunity mankind has ever seen... to stitch a new garment over our planet and make Love the new normal.

The poet Auden said, "Thousands have lived without love; none without water." Ninety-seven percent of Earth's water is the ocean. No blue, no green. If you think the ocean isn't important, imagine Earth without it. Mars comes to mind. No ocean, no life support system. I gave a talk not so long ago at the World Bank and I showed this amazing image of Earth and I said, "There it is! The World Bank!" That's where all the assets are! And we've been trawling them down much faster than the natural systems can replenish them.

Tim Worth says the economy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the environment. With every drop of water you drink, every breath you take, you're connected to the sea. No matter where on Earth you live. Most of the oxygen in the atmosphere is generated by the sea. Over time, most of the planet's organic carbon has been absorbed and stored there, mostly by microbes. The ocean drives climate and weather, stabilizes temperature, shapes Earth's chemistry. Water from the sea forms clouds that return to the land and the seas as rain, sleet, and snow, and provides a home for about 97 percent of life in the world, maybe in the universe. No water, no life; no blue, no green.

Love for your planet, Love for the ocean that gives us life, look for our forest and jungles that gives us our oxygen and the breathing space for our animals not to encroach anymore on the urban areas that we live in. We need to become more conscious about what we purchase so we reduce the amount of pollution, we need to stop and think about the air we breathe and reduce carbon emissions, we need to be conscious about what we eat and how we produce our food, to reduce carbon emissions. We need to become more conscious of how we shop to reduce carbon emissions.

Just think about this, who taught us to be healthy? Did our school teach us to be healthy? Did your teacher show you how to have a strong immune system? Did your parents? Did your parents teach you how to be healthy and have a strong immune system? If your parents taught you to have a strong immune system by eating the right foods, then you are in the 10% of the world’s population. If this is so, and your parents taught these important principles, then you should consider yourself blessed.

Maintaining a robust immune system can be a challenge in today's world.

With our hectic schedules, eating on the go, constant exposure to toxins in the air and the relentless stresses of everyday life, it’s no wonder so many of us constantly feel run down and vulnerable. The older we get, it is more critical to keep our immune system strong and healthy.

If you want to live healthily and assure yourself and your family the possibilities of never getting sick, you need to be proactively selfless and love yourself enough to build a strong immune system. Be proactive, protect and care for your planet, because it is the only one we have, the only one we all share together.

Great article Jose! A much-needed advice for all the people especially in this Pandemic time. It's not too late to actually change our lifestyle. As we try to boost our system to fight any virus, we are actually saving our nature at the same time. Thanks for this important reminder.
