Narcissistic behavior from managers can have various negative effects on the workplace and be extremely detrimental to the whole organisation and employees, including a huge negative impact and low employee morale.

Narcissistic managers often prioritize their own needs and ego over those of their employees. It truly is all about them. This can lead to low morale among the team, as employees may feel undervalued and unappreciated leading them to feel low self-worth.

Narcissistic managers may struggle with effective communication, as they tend to dominate conversations, avoid conversation and dismiss others' ideas. This does hinder collaboration and teamwork and leave employees unsure of what's expected of them.

Employees may choose to leave the company due to the toxic work environment created by a narcissistic manager.

High turnover can be costly for the organisation including lack of trust in existing staff and future candidates.

Narcissistic managers usually lack empathy and understanding for their employees in fact they don't actually care. They have no concerns for staffs personal issues, making it difficult for employees to feel supported or relevant.

Narcissistic managers play the game of favourites, showing preferential treatment to certain employees based on personal biases rather than merit. This does create resentment and division within the team, leaving it impossible to ever function correctly.

Narcissistic managers will micromanage their employees, causing frustration and a sense of powerlessness among the team, ignoring any knowledge or experience they have!! leaving staff wondering what's the point of bothering? Why am I here? is it worth it? am I needed? am I trusted? maybe I should move on?

Narcissistic managers often resist ideas or new ideas or input that challenges their authority or expertise, which can stifle creativity and innovation within the organisation.

In an attempt to maintain their self-image, narcissistic managers may take unnecessary risks that could harm the organisation convincing others they know exactly what they are doing, when often they don't.

In extreme cases, narcissistic behavior can lead to legal and ethical problems for the organisation, especially if the manager engages in unethical or abusive behavior.

It's essential for organisations to recognize and address narcissistic behavior among managers through training, coaching, or, if necessary, appropriate disciplinary action and dismissal.

Additionally, employees should seek support from HR or higher management when dealing with a narcissistic manager to protect their well-being and the health of the?organisation.
