What Nannies need to know when advertising themselves on Social Media
We very often see nannies advertising themselves on social media.
This really does ring alarm bells with us. When you mention safeguarding to nannies, they instantly think about safeguarding the children within their care they don’t really consider safeguarding themselves!
By putting an advert on social media nannies are opening themselves up, sadly, to non-legitimate responses. We have seen adverts where the nanny has posted a photo of themselves along with their location and a contact telephone number and the offer to send over their CV. ( which more often than not contains their address)
We feel incredibly strongly that nannies must think about safeguarding themselves. If you are attending an interview with a family not previously vetted by a reputable nanny agency take a friend. Any genuine family would understand
As an agency Savernake Nannies help safeguard nannies by:
? Personal registration meetings
? Personal family registration meetings.
? Requiring nannies to remove all personal data from their CV before we forward to families. This means that the nanny is unidentifiable and therefore un-contactable.
? We offer reviews with our nannies after a settling in period.
? We do not advertise or identify any of the nannies registered with us.
? We know the location, date and time of the nanny’s interview and ask them to feed back the same day.

3 年A great article Debbie and it’s great to be reminded of the high quality, in depth service you offer. Safety must be paramount. I wonder if there is an education issue here around newly qualified nannies being aware of the ‘do’s and don’t’ s ‘when looking for work?
