Most of the people in the life struggle to understand the concept of human life. Who am I? Who has created this world and why? How am I related to God? What should I do in the life? Why should I worship the God? What will be the result of worshipping or connecting with God? All these questions come to the minds of children. But due to the ignorance and inability to get the right knowledge these questions just disappear with the course of time. As people grow in their lives, they often park these questions aside and go with the flow. They see everyone running to get something better and better in the life. But, in the quest of getting mundane happiness people forget the very basic questions of life. Once people become aged, their memory becomes weak, enthusiasm reaches to lowest level and capability to explore concrete solutions diminishes drastically. In the whole cycle, people waste the valuable human birth. Thus to comprehend and act according to the inquisitiveness is essential to Drive the journey of problem-solution paradigm. Let's try to deep dive.
The timeless wisdom of life manual, Shrimad Bhagvad Gita is the guiding torch on the path of darkness. The reason of its authenticity and practicality is being it composed and spoken by the supreme personality of godhead, Shri Krishna. Shrimad Bhagvad Gita explains the fundamental questions with profound answers for all human beings. Irrespective of nationality, race, place, time and circumstances, the book always help us in all phases of life. If you have not read it, do read it. You will never regret after reading it, for sure. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita as it is, is one of authentic versions of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita along with the explanations which are lucid and much useful in mundane life. The writer of the book, Shrila Prabhupada was a renowned Bhakti Yogi who was a prominent follower of Vaishnavism and a gem of glorious Bharat. His major contribution is to make all the vedic knowledge available to all misguided people of the world especially outside Bharat.
There is an important concept of Sambandha, Abhidhey and Prayojana discussed in Shrimad Bhagvad Gita. The concept itself is self-explanatory for all essential questions of life. Let us understand its meaning and applicability in our day to day life. In fact, these concepts are key principles in the Gaudiya Vaishnavism, which is central to ISKCON's teachings. They help us understand the essence of spiritual life and our relationship with the Supreme Lord, Krishna. Let’s break down these three concepts with reference to the authentic Bhagavad Gita and other known resources.
Sambandha (Relationship)
Sambandha refers to understanding our eternal relationship with the supreme god. It is the foundational knowledge that we, as souls, are eternally connected to him, and He is the supreme controller, source, and maintainer of all. In fact, we are part and parcel of the lord, just like gold particle is qualitatively same as whole Gold brick. Only difference is that the gold particle is substantially lesser in quantity than the gold brick. Similarly, we are also fragmental part of the supreme god in our liberated form(pure soul). Without understanding our Sambandha(with god), it is difficult to progress in spiritual life. One may question who is the supreme god? But, according to the different people the name of god differs however supreme personality of godhead is Shri Krishna according to the various vedic scriptures. He has different expansions and forms which are Ram, Narsimha, Vishnu, Varaha, Kalki, etc. But the original form(as confirmed by Lord Brahma in Brahmasamhita) of supreme god is Shri Krishna who is regarded and accepted as supreme god as per all revealed scriptures and all demigods.
There are various verses in Bhagvad Gita which substantiates our position with respect to the god. Let's try to understand it.
Bhagavad Gita 15.7
Bg. 15.7
???????? ??????? ??????: ?????: ?
??:????????????????? ????????????? ?????? ?
Translation: "The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind."
Explanation: This verse establishes the eternal relationship (sambandha) between the soul and Krishna. We are parts and parcels of Krishna, and by understanding this sambandha, we realize our true spiritual identity and our connection to the Supreme. Since we are in the material world, we are conditioned by the cover of body. We keep on changing the body as we change the dress. But, essentially we are spirit soul and always remain servant of Krishna. If we worship Krishna, we are direct servant of him. But if we do not worship Krishna, we actually become servant of his energy(maya). In both the cases we are actually servant of the supreme god only. Just like a servant who refuses to serve the king, does not impact the position of the king and the servant, similarly our believing not to be subservient to the supreme lord does not change this eternal relationship.
