Consultants and Coaches !
STOP running in circles and listen. Apart from your mindset, which is probably the biggest roadblock you'll have towards financial success...
Today I wanna talk about YOUR NICHE.
Cause it's not what you think. Yeah, you heard that right...
There's a huge misconception regarding choosing "the right one" OR “getting the niche right”
I always hear the same things. "There's too much competition here..." OR "My niche doesn't have money!" OR “I am still doing market research”
Then you are thinking
" How can I deal with people who're way better than me & have the same offer at 1/3 of my price?... better see what others are doing!"
And boom. You are distracted. Checking FB, instagram, Youtube for cool ideas and the day just passes you by without any meaningful work.
That is why you are not reaching out to more people. Keeping things generic.
Defining yourself as a Health coach or IT consultant for example.
I know niche selection is a real pain point for most consultants and coaches. I struggled with it for 10 months before figuring it out. It really stressed me out. I was running in circles not making any sales while the bills kept piling up.
I thought I picked a niche but then why am I not making any sales ?
Why are people not responding to my messages ? May be they don’t get it. Can’t they see how cool I am and can really help them.
Not making any sales ?
The real problem is you do not know your niche. You have not picked your niche and do not know what their problems are.
Most people get the niche and industry confused and think they are the same.
Let me give you an example: Health coaches.
If you identify yourself as a health coach you have not picked a niche.
Health coaching is an INDUSTRY.
Likewise, IT consultant does not mean anything.
It is way too generic to appeal to anyone. It is not that simple anymore. If I am looking for an IT consultant I want to solve a very specific problem for a very specific technology.
Let's look at the Health coach example again. What type of health coach are you ?
Do you coach men, women, dogs ?
Here are a few niches for health coaches. See if you can relate.
- Health Coaching for Women over 60 struggling with depression
- Health Coaching for Women who just gave birth to their first child and are getting back to their business / corporate job
- Health Coaching for Entrepreneurs struggling with Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- Health Coaching for people who think cats are way cooler than dogs (why can’t we have fun with it)
I could go on. But you get the point.
Here is a framework you can use today to dial in your niche
1) Your consulting/coaching + client’s life events
2) Your consulting/coaching + client personality or characteristic
3) Your consulting/coaching + client’s specific goal
Apply the above framework to your consulting or coaching business and you will see the results 10x.
