MILLENNIAL INNOVATORS PODCAST—EPISODE #7:With special guest & friend of the show, Chanel Perez (VaynerMedia)
DUTY, APATHY & ACTION IN THE 21st CENTURY
Motivating people to take action IRL (in real life) is a lot more difficult than you might think it would be. As a marketer, the phrase "motivating people to action" is something I hear thrown around constantly. And sure, this is a major focus of the job. However, upon doing some deeper research on the subject I discovered that, in fact, motivation isn't what prompts us to take action at all. It's something else entirely different.
In this episode of the millennial innovators podcast, we look at what motivates people to take action (or, as I like to think of it, what drives someone to go beyond the status quo). Specifically, through the lens of citizenship in the 21st century. We discuss activating people at all levels—individual, local, and global. And, we take a look at some of the organizations who have stepped up to take the lead in this conversation in our society today. Organizations like the Obama Foundation, for example.
