It’s Hispanic Heritage Month for 2024!? It is celebrated every year from September 15 to October 15.??

One of my friends was confused about the celebration starting in the “middle of the month.”

This holiday was originally selected as a homage to Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Chile’s independence days, all of which fall within those 30 days. on Sept. 16, Sept. 18 and Sept. 21.

On the celebration’s October end, there’s Oct. 12. aka Columbus Day but is referred to as Día de la Raza in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries. Día de la Raza honors the countries and peoples conquered by Spain and other European nations.

Use this time and the other 335 days of the year to honor the American citizens whose ancestors originated from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
