What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being present and being consciously aware of your thoughts and your emotions and the world around you. Mindfulness is bringing your awareness and your whole being into the present moment and actually being present 

Some people call mindfulness getting into the zone, meaning there is nothing else flowing into your consciousness apart from what you are totally absorbed in that moment, 100% paying attention and being fully present, that you actually loose yourself 

Mindfulness is to stop you living in your head & stop you getting distracted by everything that is external to you 

What stops us being mindful? Well it’s your thoughts, and your thoughts are simply created by you

Your mind creates thoughts and they are distracting and they pull your awareness towards them and your consciousness pulls away

Your mind creates thoughts, but those thoughts are not who you are, if you stop and observe yourself and become aware of what you constantly say to yourself about everything and everyone, you have a full on conversation in your mind, so your consciousness is being aware of those thoughts instead of being aware of what’s in front of you 

It’s not about using your will or focusing, it is simply about watching the thoughts that get created within your mind

Where do your thoughts come from? 

You are not creating your thoughts, your thoughts are creating themselves inside of your head 

Why does your mind create the thoughts that it does then? 

Because your past experiences either pleasant or unpleasant ones are still inside of your mind, they left impressions on your mind, information , and that information is stored inside of you. So if you are having an external experience that information will come to the forefront of your mind and it will take you back to a past memory of an unpleasant experience you had

It is the sum of all your learned experiences that you had that is collected inside of your mind and that starts your mind talking and making up stories and looking at every worst case scenario 

And all your mind talks about constantly is the total sum of all your past experiences and every single person has different information inside of their minds due to their own personal life experiences 

Your past experiences decides what you like and what you don’t like and how you feel about things, it’s not you, it’s just your mind that has had impressions put upon it and it’s responding to what it’s observing in front of it now. But you are the consciousness that is responding to the mind and what it is paying attention

Every negative experience we have, we suppress them inside of us and every positive, nice feeling experience, we cling onto, but every experience is simply to help us grow and to enable us to move through all of our life experiences 

When you see your mind creating negative emotional thoughts, the only thing you need to do about it is just relax and release.... thoughts can’t hurt you. They only hurt you because you resist them and the resistance hurts you... lean away from the thought, relax and release them, so that you allow them to simply pass through you 

Life is simply about experiencing all aspect of life, but not holding onto any experience, but simply letting it flow through you. The problems happen when we hold on to those experience and use those experiences as a frame of reference that we use to guide our every decision and choice we now make in our lives today
