What is Microsoft Dynamics 365? & Who uses Microsoft Dynamics 365?

Microsoft Dynamics 365?is a line of products dedicated to the ERP (enterprise resource planning) and CRM (customer relationship management) space. Since its release in November of 2016 the line has taken the world by storm, according to?Dynamics Consultants?“This year (2021), Microsoft general manager for D365 Business Central Mike Morton announced an accelerated growth to 10.000+ customers. So that is a growth of 6.000 new customers in total with an average of 500 new customers per month!” Top customers include, GNC, Coca-Cola Africa, Mercedes-Benz USA, Miami Heat, L’Oréal, Columbia Sportwear, Dr. Martens, HP, and UNICEF Nederland. Microsoft identified their need to become more evolved and involved in the hybrid and cloud-based world of ERP and CRM. They started with acquisitions of products such as NAV and AX, which they updated and fine-tuned into their well-known products part of Dynamics 365 today and are briefly explained below.

How does Microsoft Dynamics work?

Using SaaS (Software as a Service), Microsoft’s own Power BI (suite of business intelligence), ERP, CRM and HCM products, Microsoft Dynamics can bundle the convenience and security of cloud based as well as the ability to work with third party programs.

Is Microsoft Dynamics Cloud-Based & What is Microsoft Dynamics 365 used for?

Yes, as of 2022, there are cloud-based solutions, on the ERP front these modules include

Dynamics 365 Business Central:

Great for small & mid-sized businesses/organizations, that can efficiently consolidate areas. You’re able to keep your data secure, access it from anywhere due to being on the cloud, optimize your data, reduce costs and more.

Dynamics Project Operation:

This application can unite aspects such as project management with other teams in one application which is able to accelerate and maximize profitability across projects in real time.

Dynamic 365 Intelligent Order Management:

Intelligent Order Management does just as its name implies, it is able to use incorporated intelligence to optimize deliveries, order competition and amplify cost effectiveness through a single point instead of multiple independent systems.

Dynamics 365 Fraud Protection:

Detect irregularities and possible fraud on returns and discounts as soon as possible to minimize revenue impact. The defense of this module allows you to safeguard your reputation. Also allows you to strike a balance between revenue potential, fraud loss, and checkout friction.

Dynamics 365 Commerce:

Allows for consistent purchasing experiences which can increase revenue brand loyalty, manage many stores, enhance sales, and centrally manage merchandising. This application works with other apps organizations may already have in place and allows for warehousing and inventory control systems.

Dynamics Finance & Operations:

In this module financial management is offered and it comprises manufacturing tools for project management, production planning, scheduling, and cost management, as well as supply chain management warehousing and inventory control systems.

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management:

The application allows simplification of the process from sales till fulfillment of orders which means that data and logistics can be analyzed to predict demand, purchasing of goods, and optimize responses.

The CRM focused business applications/modules include:

Dynamics 365 Sales:

Embedded insights, increased seller productivity, artificial intelligence driven insights help sales teams get a comprehensive outlook and helps them to create a more cohesive process to manage the entire processes.

Dynamics 365 Marketing:

With ability to find and generate leads, personalized experiences, improved analytics, multi-channel campaigns, event management and more the Marketing module allows for a comprehensive marketing reach with a greater ROI.

Dynamics 365 Customer Service:

Customer service agents are able to assist customers over multiple different types of devices through multiple channels. This module also allows agents to use intelligent processes so that when assisting customers, they are able to quickly address issues, they also able to connect with other applications so to reduce costs but time spent on each issue as well.

Dynamics 365 Field Service:

Field Service module allows for evaluation of any issues that may arise so that the deployment and time of your technicians is optimized, scheduling of technicians as needed whether that be over video-call or not, and it also gives your technician everything necessary such as a complete view of customers and any relevant information as well.

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights:

Customer insights allows you to gauge how customers can be categorized and how they interact and engage with your platform, this allows you to use customer data in an organized way to optimize said engagement, user experience, and more.
