The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, Professor of Education at Harvard University. It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes nine different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children & adults. Intelligence is not a single general ability. Rather, there are several specific primarily sensory “modalities”. Each child is unique and his or her intelligence type is simply the dominating modality.?

The Multiple Intelligence Test allows students to explore interest and inclination of students at an early age, which helps them become aware of the range of occupations available to them and allows them to match areas of intelligence with various options. It is a common practice that society and school focus solely on linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence. Contrary to this, we must also give equal attention to prodigious individuals such as: artists, architects, musicians, naturalists, designers, dancers, therapists, entrepreneurs and others who enrich the world in which we live.?
