What is MFI ?

I am a Iphone user for 5years, but except the time when I brought the new iPhone ,I barely used the original Apple charging cable.

As known that the original charging cable is easy to broken when bending .Also ,the original cable costs around 20USD which is expensive for me so I used the normal cable instead until when I changed my work and came to Tongketai, I found that there are some lightning cable which called MFI cable.

MFI stands for MADE FOR IPHONE/IPOD/IPAD. Obviously ,that is another way for APPLE Company to protect their chips and gain the money.

But any difference between the MFI cable and the normal cable ?

First ,the price. Now ,the selling price for one normal lightning is around 2dollars or even cheaper but for the MFI cable ,it needs around 10USD . Does that mean the manufacturer gain a lot of profit ? Obviously not ,for every MFI certificated cable ,all the chips will be provided by Apple and it costs 5times than the normal one .

Second ,the safety. when you used the normal cable ,does your phone show "this cable is not support for this device "sometimes? There are a few reason .One is poor contact, dust on the connector or the plug get loose.Another is the voltages not match .In this case ,instability current will harm your device even short circuit.

How to distinguish MFI cable ?

You can search brand /Model/UPC etc to check if your supplier have the certified of the MFI .(TKETAI is our brand )
