What is the Methylation Detox Cycle, and Why You should care about Liver Health.

The Methylation Cycle is a complex system of feedback loops that help your body breakdown toxins.

Isnt it amazing that your body knows how to do this, even though that Diagram looks really complex and confusing !

It is amazing that " a human can even breathe unattended ".


Your body needs methyl groups to deal with all the stuff that you throw into your body, ( tobacco, alcohol, fructose, sucrose, trans fats, omega 6 fats, difficult proteins, lectins, etc, etc,)

Every cell does this stuff to a degree, but the Methylation Cycle occurs mainly in the Liver.

It utilises B Vitamins, essential trace minerals, and is the basis for production of Serotonin and Dopamine ( neurotransmitters essential for Mental Health )

I hope I have now got your interest and attention.

So please let me highlight 3 parts of your Amazing Detox System

1 The Citric acid cycle and the Ammonia clean-up cycle on the left,

show that each cycle cranks the other cycles.

Methyl groups are donated and released.

The Citric acid cycle starts in your Stomach.

2 The diagram on the right shows that Vit B2, B6, B12 are needed, and the folate pathway uses methylfolate, the methionine cycle uses methyl B12

For all the B Vitamins to work, they need to be methylated.

B Vitamins are water soluble, and flushed out daily.

Someone who is under-methylated and under stress, will struggle to methylate the required B vits and folic acid to do the job processing the chemicals, fats and proteins,

and start to feel sick, or just feel less than ordinary all the time, and struggle through,

and just flush out un-methylated B Vitamins.

That is why Supplements should be activated B Vits, and Methylfolate,

not just Folic acid.

If you are under a lot of Stress, dont buy normal B Vitamins. Your B Vitamins will not work properly. Your body will just have to try to methylate them. If it cant do that, you will feel sick, and just pee out unusable B vits.

Alcohol decreases SAMe “ available for other methylation.

Humans don’t have a great enzyme to break down urea.

High levels of blood uric acid have long been associated with Gouty arthritis (Gout), a medical condition characterized by red, tender, hot, and swollen joints caused by recurrent attacks of acute inflammatory arthritis.

A condition that shows that you are Under-Methylated.

Pathologically, an increase of blood uric acid levels, leads to crystal deposits in joints, tendons, and other tissues and uric acid renal stones.

Traditional medicine knows that diets heavy in fructose, or exposure to " heavy metals " can also contribute to high uric acid levels.

Heavy metal exposure ( Lead, Cadmium, Mercury ) closes down the Enzyme systems, because they block the enzyme receptors, for the minerals that are essential for normal cell function.

Confirmed essential:

Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, Copper, Potassium, Sodium, Phosphorus, Iodine, Selenium, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, Boron.

Too much Fructose, and too much Alcohol and Tobacco, occupies the Methylation pathway, so your liver cannot deal with the omega 3 and trans fats, and puts your methylation cycle under pressure.

A gene mutation that prevents full expression of Tyrosine to Dopamine,

Trypothan to Serotonin. and Less GABA.

" an Under-Methylator ".


Most people are just basic struggling to survive,

put a food on the table, bring up their children.

The two main problems in health today are INFLAMMATION and TOXINS.

So NUTRITION is everything.

Bacteria and viruses only attack unhealthy hosts,

especially chronically inflamed sites.

2 stop eating so much Carbs ( pasta, pizza, bread )

These are the oils/fats that your liver can easily break down.

Your liver is built to break down animal fat.

Dont give it trans fats ( from fried food heated oils).

even “light olive oil” which is chemically extracted from the waste pulp of Extra Virgin, and added with a bit of 3rd?rate olive oil. and has no vitamins or minerals.

Extra Virgin Olive oil is like juice of the olive and should taste like you could drink it.

It has a shelf life or it goes off. If it takes like “ dead Olive Oil “ it is not good.
