Hey you!
I’m thrilled to drop today’s Tactical TDAY newsletter, and trust me, you won't want to miss this one!
Let’s jump right in - today, I’ll be covering:
Messi’s Next Chapter: Are You Ready?
So, Messi’s not just crushing it on the field at Inter Miami, he’s expanding onto our screens too.
He just announced on Instagram that he’s teaming up with Smuggler Entertainment to launch his own production company, 525 Rosario.
And honestly, this is the kind of move we’re seeing more and more from big names in sports.
Like, Shaquille O'Neal teaming up with Hershey’s for his “SHAQ-A-LICIOUS XL Gummies” (yep, that’s a real thing).
Or how Travis and Jason Kelce just landed a $100 million podcast deal with Amazon.
Even Cristiano Ronaldo (though, let's be real, Messi’s still number one) is building his fan base with his own newsletter and YouTube channel.
What’s happening right now is wild.
Athletes are realizing how powerful their personal brands are, and companies are jumping on board to reach younger, more engaged fans.
It’s a huge shift in sports marketing, and it’s all because of how global media is changing.
Who knows where this will go in the next few years, but it’s definitely exciting to watch!
How We Generated 17 Million Views In 30 Days
Basketball TDAY just smashed 17 million views?in just 30 days!
If you’re connected with me on LinkedIn, you might have seen my post about it…
But let’s dive deeper into the power of short-form content and why it’s a game-changer for your personal brand, YouTube growth, and driving traffic to your business.
What’s Happening With People's Attention Spans?
When was the last time you saw a young person read a book?
Let’s be real… most people have traded long form content (like books, newspapers, articles) for their phones - and that’s dramatically impacted attention spans.
Millennials average around 12 seconds, and Gen Z? Just 8 seconds.
And it’s mostly due to the heaps of content at our fingertips.
Think of any social media platform, you can scroll for days. That’s why it’s called the “feed” because it keeps “feeding” you with those quick hits of dopamine.
Plus, Gen-Z just has so many great options of content to consume.
We have YouTube.
TikTok.
Instagram.
Netflix.
Every other streaming service.
Video games.
Apps.
Spotify.
The list goes on and on…
All this being said, if you want to capture the younger generation, your content strategy must be concise, engaging and instantly appealing.
3 Quick Tips To 10X Your Short-Form Content
领英推荐
You’re probably wondering…
“that’s awesome Justin, but how do I create content to capture the attention of the younger generation?”
Here’s some short-form secrets that helped us rack up 17 million impressions in 30 days with Basketball TDAY:
Nail that first frame
This is the most important shot of your video.
It’s easy to blame algorithms when your views dip.
But many creators fail to give viewers a compelling reason to watch until the end.
So make sure it’s clear what the video is about from the start.
Stick to your schedule
Once you’ve created your content schedule, don’t skip a day.
Instagram, & TikTok usually "punish" you for missing a day.
And YouTube's algorithm is the most strict with this.
Consider yourself warned!
Say "you" in the first 3 seconds
Saying “you” makes viewers feel seen and heard.
This simple trick not only boosts your chances of keeping them watching past the hook but also encourages more comments and shares.
It’s crazy how much impact just one word can have!

A Mattress, Lacrosse Sticks and Multiple Bungee Cords…
Every creator has that one defining moment…
The moment you realize this is what you’re meant to do for life.
I often get asked about my “moment”...
So I’ve gotta share it with you.
I actually first started recording videos when I was 10 years old . With my moms iPhone, a mattress, lacrosse sticks and multiple bungee cords…
Me and my friends had the ultimate home-made WWE ring to film all our favorite wrestling moves. Of course, we didn’t do anything too stupid (I promise Mom ??), but after posting a few videos, we went viral. I was totally hooked.
And for the next 7 years, I recorded a YouTube video every single day.
I still remember about 5 years ago, I recorded a live podcast with my good friend Matt where we spoke about our dream jobs. I didn’t know 100% back then, but I felt it would be something creative.
But looking back, my “moment” was definitely that first time I picked up the camera.
Enough about me though, I’d love to hear what your “moment” was. Whether you’re a creator, athlete, business owner, or anything in between…
