1. Driven by test driven development & feature driven development, i.e. driven by end user descriptions/scenarios of what is required of the solution
2. Seeks constant user feedback
3. Recognizes that plans are short-lived
4. Develops solution iteratively with a emphasis on continuous value-added development activities
5. Delivers multiple working solution increments
6. Adapts as changes occur
