What it means to be sustainable
Generali Philippines
Stronger Together. Life and Health Benefits for your employees.
When a business commits to being sustainable, it means they are looking to grow beyond the profit margins. Becoming sustainable is a long-term investment, as it works out of consideration for the environmental and social impact of its activities. Doing so takes steps towards looking out for generations of customers after. It is in the spirit of what the United Nations defined in 1987, “[Sustainability is] meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Some of the things Generali does to make their business sustainable:
1. Participate in outreach and community activities.?
Generali has regularly engaged with those in-need, assisting with outreach and medical missions. Even through pandemic, we worked with NGOs to assist those severely affected by lockdown.?
2. Utilize more digital solutions.
Aside from being in line with our core value of accessibility, digital solutions minimize our carbon footprint. We encourage use of this to engage with clients and business partners.
3. Phase out use of coal
We have decided to exclude additional investments in coal-related businesses and commit to phasing out partnerships with those who operate in the thermal coal sector by 2030.

4. Hold teams accountable to ethical principles
Trust is earned with integrity. We aim to be transparent with our business, and foster a workplace based on performance and responsibility.
5. Listen to our clients
Hear our clients’ needs and expectations, promote responsible behavior and continue to serve them quickly and sensitively.
These and many more initiatives are what made Generali rank high in sustainability indices and ratings. Just last 2021, we even ranked as one of the top 5 most sustainable companies. You may get updates on our continuing initiatives and sustainable business goals at our main website?here.
