What it Means to be a Platform of Schools

Egypt Education Platform (EEP) is the umbrella organisation that brings our family of schools together.?We are a dynamic organisation, which is rapidly growing and is very ambitious in our aim of providing outstanding learning opportunities for students.?We have five different sectors, which are comprised of the following:

? GEMS International Schools (British International School of Madinaty, The British School Rehab, GEMS International School Cairo (September 2022)?Alexandria International Academy, and Soma Bay International School (September 2023))

? Hayah Schools Enterprise (West campus to open September 2022)

? Prime National Curriculum Schools (Scholars Language International School and Westview Language International School (September 2023) Madinaty Language School, Madinaty Integrated Language School)

? Pre-K Institutions (Trillium and Petals pre-schools recently joined our family)

? Adjacent services and specialized models (Options travel)

There are many benefits of being part of a broad and diverse market. I will briefly highlight 10 of them:

1. Expertise from our Corporate Leadership Team: We have experts from their respective fields that bring a wealth of experience which drives us forward.

2. Variety of Schools: Our schools offer a variety of curricula including National Curriculum of England, American through the IB framework, Egyptian National & school created curriculums, not to mention Montessori pre-schools.

3. Stability and confidence: During these uncertain times, families and staff can feel confident that we are a financially secure organization that has access to funds, which individual school would never be able to realise.

4. Partnerships with leading national and international organizations: We are approached daily by companies that want to work with us. Just today I had a meeting with the CEO from 8billionideas.

5. Working with our partners from GEMS in Dubai: We benefit from professional learning, parent satisfaction surveys, and many other ways, which enable our schools to improve by utilizing the expertise, structures, and systems from our schools and School Support Centre in Dubai.

6. Collaboration across schools: We are very intentional in our plans to have colleagues to collaborate with colleagues from other schools including but not limited to having professional development opportunities (e.g. Positive Discipline in the Classroom) across the platform.

7. School Reviews: We had colleagues from Dubai fly to Cairo and undertake School Reviews, which formed the basis of the school’s newly created Strategic Improvement Plans. Moving forward, we will train our colleagues from schools within Egypt to undertake these reviews.

8. Support from the Central Education Team (CET): I have the privilege of leading the CET where we are able to support our schools’ improvement by working as partners with our Principals and their Leadership Teams.

9. Unique opportunities for our students: e.g. EEP Cup, GEMS MUN, Challenge of the Pharaohs.

10. Opportunities to ‘grow our own’: A main focus for the central education team (CET) next academic year is to further develop and support our middle leadership positions, as these individuals are key to EEP’s success. Opportunities for promotion will exist within each school but also across all schools.
