Gratitude to my dear Mother who named me Mona and gladly my dear Father agreed. One day, I had asked my Mother; “What was the meaning of my name?” She replied with a smile” The ultimate hope or wishes”. Upon learning that and as was a child, I thought of what could be my ultimate hope or wishes in life? I made it a focus point to live with a bigger hope which has kept me sound up to day!

You may be curious to know what it is! After a long life, but young enough not to mention how long, I just made a research and was entertaining and remarkably impressive! The research’s result couldn’t be more precise of a description.

Let us begin! Mona has two origins; Italian and Greek! It is a feminine form of Moni which is a short form of Simone, the Italian form of Simon. The meaning of Mona in Italian is “Lady” and a short form of Madonna. And in Greek the name means “Solitary”! In Arabic countries, the name is derived from the given name Muna and in Africa means “the Lord is with me”, “unreachable wishes” or “desire”. And in Irish the name is pronounced “Muadhnait”,?diminutive of muadh and means “Noble or Aristocratic” ! It is the plural form of the word Munia. A female who is sensitive and easily gets hurt, but never stays mad for long, since she is full of love.
