mBraining is an applied field of neuroscience that uses Head, Heart, Gut and Autonomic Nervous System to process information, to make decisions and to communicate (internally with self - and externally with others).

I recently read a flyer of what leaders say. And it got me curious.

What do mBraining leaders say?

If you haven't come across mBraining - you can grab a FREE eBook on mbraining-global.com. You will read how the different brains are best placed to do different functions. The head for example, is awesome at logic and thinking, evaluation and assessment. It can create a pretty awesome plan and strategy too. However, the head is not the best place to communicate feelings from - to let someone know you care. Can you imagine, I create a list and go through one by one all the things I think you are good at. If my heart was not connected - the chances are you would not take it in or even belief what I was saying.

Have you ever had a "gut" feeling about someone? Maybe not been able to fully explain it immediately - but in tie was proved to be accurate. Maybe they let you down, betrayed you, lied to you.

That is because your gut is fantastic at keeping you safe. It will drive action to keep you safe too, as well as being involved in taking action on the plans and goals your head designs for you.

What about the heart then? Well, no surprise, the heart is best placed at connecting authentically with others, showing them how you feel - showing them you care. It is also where we hold our values, and what is important to us.

And the Autonomic Nervous System - like your internal guards - patrolling and monitoring. Passing on key information (and checking out its accuracy).

Can you begin to see how an mBraining leader - using all of their brains - is very likely to ask different questions and show up very differently in conversations (those over the water cooler - day to day conversations as well as those courageous conversations you have to breathe deeply to start).

Which of your brains are you using in your role?

Which one could you use even more of?
