Padi Hai is a Hindi translation of the subject line of today’s essay. I had the opportunity to interview Krishna Prasad on my podcast, Inspire Someone Today. A passionate corporate leader with over 40 years of professional experience and found his IKAGAI in mentoring and coaching young professionals, particularly in the IT industry. Here are the key insights from our conversation,
We are all salespeople inherently but we do not acknowledge it?
Negotiating with our elders for a sleepover at a friend's place or higher pocket money is all part of the sales skills. We don’t have to be a salesperson to don those and each of us should develop an inner salesperson in us. It’s a mindset than a skill, an attitude to embrace new things, having the appetite to learn new stuff, and above all taking responsibility for our own growth

Word of advice to senior and mid-level managers
Senior leaders in the organization are always caught between the hard rock and the deep sea to balance the interests of the shareholders and the rest of the firm. Senior leaders can operate from a point of authenticity and vulnerability to strike a balance between the needs of the people to that of the stakeholders. Authenticity helps to strike a chord. Mid-level managers are the backbone of the organization and play a critical role in connecting the individual's aspirations to that of the organization. They can play the role with great aplomb by demonstrating empathy and care towards their team members.
What matters to me
If it is important, we get it done. Bringing this outlook to everything we do will help us to be better professionals and individuals. We go to any length when we embrace the task on hand and this practice helps us to take up a new project, hobby or an assignment on the contrary applying these principles to things that don’t excite us can also enhance the completion of the task if those task matter to us.
So what's your Padi Hai?
