Number of times I have seen such people who neither work for appraisals nor money, they work because they are passionate for it. And I am still in Shock how a Piece of Paper can prove your Determination and Passion for any Work. I went for Interview 2 days back as I got a shortlisted mail in reply to my resume. I went to the office on the given time as this was my First On-Role Job interview. I went their in The Reception and sitting there for Almost 5 hours waiting for my turn. Somewhere I was getting irritated but then I took a deep breathe and waited for half an hour more. After waiting so long, I went to the Receptionist and asked her How long it will take, atleast Notify. It's been so long I m waiting. Then called someone and told 5 min more. I went back to the Sofa and started waiting again. After 10-15 min, i heard a voice Simran it's your turn, please go inside. Though After waiting so long, I was somewhere pissed but at the same time I was nervous also that what they might ask, i will capable to answer them or not, i will able to tackle their tricky questions or not. I gathered all the hope and opened the door of the cabin with a gesture "May I Come in, Sir". As I entered in the Cabin, I sat on the Chair. And the Interview Started, and The First Question comes "Are you sure you can do This Job as you have only 1 year of Experience and that too in a small Startup" - punch 1. Suddenly the other Question arrises "You even know that we hitting MBA holders or person with Minimum 4 years of Experience " -punch 2 As I was thinking to answer this questions with such cheezy dialogues that I can do this, I will try to give my 100% to the company. Another Punch comes that "Why do you think Company should Hire you instead of those Certificate holders or Experienced Person". And then I realized if I want to get selected for this, I will have to Exact not Appropriate and I took a deep Breathe and said " Sorry to interrupt you Sir but If this job was for Only Certificate Holders or Experienced Person why my resume for selected, might be company is looking for some Passionate Talents instead of Ethical Experience. As per my opinion, An Employee should always be selected for their way of working, not as per the Year of Working. May be I m not a Degree or Experience holder but I know how to do that and more than No. Of Years, I m familiar with the No. Of Ways how It can be Achieved. So the decision is upto you whether to proceed this Interview or not but I could only say that I m no less than the other people 5 years of Experience and I see myself sitting with them and competing them equally ". The Interviewer in Reply to that said "Thank you and this was it, you will get the call for the HR round of you will get selected". After a Warm Goodbye I left the Room with some Confusion in my Head and hoped that I get a call. What do you think on this and What should be your Opinion about the question "What matters most, Degrees and Certificates or Knowledge " ?? Share your answer and let people know how to deal with their first MNC interview.

5 年That's a great article simran, thanks for sharing your experience with us. In today's era of work and employment the role of having a degree or a major certification is not on priority anymore, most important is passion, enthusiasm and eager of doing the work, Big companies like #google or #apple are already hiring the most interested people than the ones with most certificates, but you have to have the talent that requires for the profile. Well we can't deny degree or certificate is important but not to judge your talent but for the knowledge and knowledge can be judged in many ways if not the piece of paper. It's all matter of time and certainly the right time to judge talent fairly is coming!
