When you look for success, you investigate into inspirational quotes from wise, moral of the stories, commandments from scripture, recommendation from motivational speakers etc.?All such statements are some forms of recommendations for us to act on. While all such recommendations at gross levels vary in verbiage with respect to area of success, at the deeper level all point to one common aspect and attribute, which is “embracing”. When you run long miles, you embrace the comfort zone of your body, when you get criticism, you embrace defame in your mind, when you do not get whatever, you wanted, you have to embrace your craving to concur it.
Hence embracing works at a level beyond body and mind. It dissolves our shadow self at the core by dissolving desire, fear, anger and pride. In other words, embracing means doing it with willingness, quest, acceptance, and enthusiasm without a trace of compulsion. When you do anything with embracing, it is called passion else it’s an obsession. All masters and leaders those who have created grand success and inspired this world so far have embraced some lower-essence associated with their challenging life situation. Hence Rob Bell?told;
"The life that you want begins the moment you embrace the life you have because all of it is a miracle.”
For success, motivational speakers generally recommend you to take some action; i.e., focus, dream, work hard, have right attitude. However, many times the expected outcome is not apparent, even if you give your 100%. This is because most of motivational speakers miss the significance of embracing but exploit us with temporary entertainment through beautifully cooked stories and words play.
Embracing the life situation is like trying to break the closed door down to see how many other windows we have open and realize that life comes in not to tumble you but to humble you.
In 1981, Mr. Narayan Murthy, Sudha Murthy’s husband, realized his big dream, and it was the beginning of Infosys, one of the biggest names in the software industry. But before making any decision, he said that both could not be at Infosys together. Hence, he offered her the choice of joining Infosys, but she chose to pull back. At a later point in time, she expressed;
??"It was very hard for me; it was not an easy decision because in 1968, when I joined engineering college, there was not a single girl in the university. For a person like me, who was so career conscious and so fond of technical things, it was very hard. However, Murthy being a very strong person, said either you or me, either it is black or white, or one or zero. I said, “Okay,” and I made the decision, but my heart was very heavy. It took many years for me to reconcile by saying that I am not part of the team Infosys”.
?So, she embraced her heavy-heart and reconciled the inner-disposition to dissolve the lack-ness, self-centeredness and attachment; which repurposed the self-centric greed to eco-stem-centric quest. In simple, she retained her Sage-ness and at the same time, she is involved with outcome of creative process (i.e., wealth, power, position, name, fame and so on), which is Smart-ness.
In every life-situation?embracing ?must to happen with in the space between stimulus and response . Once?embracing ?happens, it transform us by transmuting and repurposing lower elements to higher; Obsession to passion, vulnerability to vision, uncertainty to understanding, complexity to clarity, ambiguity to adaptability, greed to quest for growth, result to process, conformity to creativity, compulsion to freedom ; allowing a beautiful co-existence of smartness as well as sage-ness. You become the inevitable force for every success and become Smart-Sage.

1 年'Embracing' truely gives freedom from all mind, body and external/ superficial things and brings us very close to ourselves...and that space is so special and serene ??
