What management lesson we can learn from the friendships?

Do you reckon the last time you told your friend about your recent setback or failure and they said, ah come and let's go out for a coffee together? And you felt better after that?

Oh yes! Friendships do teach us a lot of things that can be incorporated into your corporate life and if you have good friends, then you will be one of the luckiest people in the world.?

What management lessons we all can learn from friendships?


  • Walk together, fall together and pick up each other?- Organisations are more about 'we' rather than 'I'. I still remember one day when I told my manager oh sorry! I made this mistake so immediately my manager corrected me and told me that it is not 'I' it's 'we', we made a mistake and we will correct it together.?

That's how the approach should be. Pick each other up, lift each other, and cheer up. Most importantly walk together at all thick and thins. Do not let people sink, give each other a firm hand.?


  • Do not forget to enjoy, laugh, giggle and have fun?- Work is a great way to manage life, to earn a living so that you and your loved ones can live a better life, it was never meant to create destruction in life.?

Make sure that you enjoy what you do and enjoy along with people, and develop friendships and relationships at work so you and your colleagues who are working along with you, enjoy too and work becomes enjoyable.


  • It is okay to make mistakes?- Mistakes and failures is the greatest teacher, in friendship too, sometimes we say something unconsciously or do something which we shouldn't but friends don't mind!

?Encourage failures, it will enable people to become more creative and they won't hide their mistakes but will take accountability. Later on, train them on how to become better at what they are doing to reduce the mistakes and errors and see them thriving.


  • Dream big and never give up?-?Yes, we all share our dreams, goals, ambitions, fear, and worries with friends and what do they do? They tell you that hell yes! you can do it!! They believe in your dreams and support you with whatever you are going through.

?Organisations too should encourage employees to dream a bigger dream and should enable and equip employees to pursue their different goals, dreams, ambitions, and desire.


  • Coffee is a helpful tool?- Hanging out with your friends does improve your mood and no matter what you are going through, after a conversation or coffee catchup it ultimately makes life a little easier? Isn't it??

Colleagues and managers/leaders play a very important role and sometimes a conversation or a coffee meeting can help employees to cope or can boost their confidence level.


You must have heard that a friend in need is a friend indeed, here's another addition - A colleague/manager in need is a colleague/manager indeed!
