What is Malware or Spam?

What is Malware or Spam?

Malware in a website refers to malicious software embedded into the site's code with the intent to harm or exploit visitors and their devices. It can enter websites through vulnerabilities in software, outdated plugins, or even compromised third-party services. Once malware infects a website, it may perform actions such as stealing sensitive data, redirecting users to harmful sites, or spreading to visitors' devices. Attackers can use malware to gain unauthorized access, exploit website resources, or manipulate site content for malicious purposes. Various forms of malware, such as viruses, trojans, ransomware, or spyware, may be employed depending on the attacker's goals. Malware can also affect a website's reputation, leading to security warnings from browsers and search engines, which in turn may block access to the site. Regular security audits, timely software updates, and robust security measures are essential to defend against website malware. Malicious actors constantly evolve their tactics, making proactive defense critical for website security.
