When it comes to working with clients it doesn’t matter if you’re in the B2B or B2C space, your prospects always have one question in the back of their minds. “What makes you different than the others?” In other words what about working with you would align with who I am and what I want?
I’ve been a musician for over 20 years and once you’ve done any activity for that long you begin to realize it’s all been done before. Those chords have all been played, melodies written, or in my case drum beats have been laid down. The business world is hardly any different. So what makes you different....the products, your location, your niche? Those all play in but overall it’s you, yes you that makes the difference.
You’re unique and the perspective and experience of your life have made only one of you. Only one Samantha in marketing, JD in payroll, etc. Your business is made up of all the past experiences of everyone on your team. How do those experiences and shared values stack up to make working with your business a value like none other?

Just like in music the business you build (your band), the products you offer (your songs) and the clients you attract (your audience) are all an outcome of the unique experiences of your life and your employees’ lives. Make sure your prospects know that your team, your business is like none other on the planet because of you and your people. Lead the conversation with why who you are allows you to serve like you do and see if your closing rate doesn’t go up significantly!
