Uncovering your uniqueness or USP is a vital part of business that many don't put the time into or they put aside as something that's not that important.
If you can work out the 'real' reason your clients buy from you instead of your competitor this can be a great first step; you can usually identify this pretty quickly because your clients usually tell you. And in almost all cases you'll find it's not about price.
Think about it, what if you worked with medical doctors who use a particular practice software or solicitors who specialise in a particular area and you already have a client or two in this space. If you go deep into this 'unique' area and work really hard to understand their world (and frustrations), study and learn as much as you can. You then become like a unicorn in the industry. Someone that industry seeks out instead of you doing endless non targeted marketing.
Become the 'expert' and the go to person by specialising and going deep. When you zone in on your uniqueness everything falls out of that, your conversations at networking events, your marketing material, your website, your posts on social media the list goes on.
Doing business is easier when you have a USP and Niche, take the time to find it and go deep. The benefits are endless.
