I have been reflecting upon my career to find any unique skills that kept me on the job. Not only on the job but keeping the engagement while delivering the expectations of the organization.
It's simple and easy to do yet many consider least important when engaging in any task.
"UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS"
Process knowledge is more powerful than the skills of executing the task. Skills adds efficiency to the task. When you look at process knowledge, it is the mechanism that expedite efficiency and productivity.
Process knowledge is the end-to-end understanding of how a particular process functions and how the process drives productivity. It saves you time and energy.
Don't ask for tools and procedures, ask, "why am I doing this task? " Why am I using these tools and systems and not others?" The questions put your mind to get to the basics of the process.
Understanding how a business process and system functions enables you to be productive and effective to deliver on any expectations at minimum stress and complications.
Does it ring a bell in your mind? What is it then? Can you share so we can learn from each other?
Thanks for reading.
