What makes Web 5.0 unique from Web 3.0 and Web 2.0?

We have grown accustomed to a number of phrases used in the context of blockchain technology . Web 3.0, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the Metaverse , and a significant number of other developments have garnered huge traction from the last couple of years. It would appear that new complicated and occasionally perplexing terms are being introduced on a daily basis, but we are not given the opportunity to delve into the specifics of each of these terms.
Jack Dorsey's Bitcoin startup TBD recently came up with a novel and surprising strategy to kick-start the development of the next iteration of the internet, known as Web 5.0, or the progression of Web 3.0 , which is the next generation of the internet. But what precisely is this Web5 thing all about? How is it distinguishable from Web 3.0 or Web 2.0? We will discuss the evolution of the web here in this piece.
What exactly is Web 5?
Web 1.0 was the name given to the first era of the world wide web, which functioned as a digital communication network. It was referred to as the "read-only" internet because the websites that comprised it were static and did not provide any opportunities for active participation.
The next step in inventing the web was executing a "read and write" internet. The fact that users could now communicate with servers and other users was the seed that eventually grew into the social web. This is the internet in its current state, as we are all acquainted with it.
A "read-write-execute" web that is built on decentralization is what is referred to as Web 3.0, which is an evolving term that refers to the next generation of the internet. The next generation of the World Wide Web is called Web 3.0, and it is driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning. This means that computers can now understand information in the same way humans do.
Jack Dorsey's Proposal
Jack Dorsey's TBD proposal involves a different approach to Web3's behavior. We may move towards Web5 based on Bitcoin's immutability and decentralization rather than many protocols and blockchain networks.

Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) that use the Bitcoin blockchain are one of Web5's primary features. Everything that's needed can run on Bitcoin's validators and solutions.? Jack Dorsey's Web5 proposal is a Bitcoin-based self-sovereignty solution. There's no need for a second consensus algorithm or network.?
Throughout his career, Dorsey has been an advocate for the virtual currency Bitcoin. With TBD, he's striving to develop new Bitcoin-based solutions (Web5). Using the world's largest and most secure network, Web5 is a Bitcoin-centric model that utilizes the Bitcoin network.
Using Bitcoin's infrastructure, new tools and solutions could be produced that make Web3 look ancient. This invention comes amid criticism of Bitcoin's lack of flexibility and programmability. Jack Dorsey and his team are making Bitcoin the norm and relying on it to help humankind become self-sufficient.
Will Web 5.0 Displace Web 3.0 in the Future?
It's too early to speculate about Web5 replacing Web 3.0. Web5's goals may take a long time to actualize. This is only a proposal that might revolutionize many "normal" things, such as centralized blockchain networks.
Changes are afoot. Numerous issues have tarnished bitcoin's reputation, notably the growth and proliferation of efforts that claimed to be decentralized but were actually centralized platforms with single points of failure.
Between Web2.0 and Web3.0, we're at a crossroads. The transition from Web3.0 to Web5.0 may be a long one. As a result, developers, businesses, and individuals will have more alternatives when it comes to the finest online experience.

2 年They keep coming up with these nonsense terms just because it sounds cool. Please stop confusing people with this garbage. There is no web 1, web 3, web 5 and web 1 million, these non-sense terms make just as much sense as the Windows versioning convention. Let me give you a down to earth, logical and physical explanation of what the internet started off as, what it is and what it will become: 1. In the 1960s government researchers wanted a way to share information faster. January 1, 1983 is the official birthday of the Internet. Prior to this, the various computer networks did not have a standard way to communicate with each other. A new communications protocol was established called Transfer Control Protocol/Internetwork Protocol (TCP/IP) - today we know it as IP and it represents a mathematical algorithm that our species uses to send and receive information. This standard became so widely adopted that it was implemented as hardware in all network card chips. Nothing to do with storage, just communication. 2. In 2008, Bitcoin slowly revealed to the world the second internet revolution: Autonomous software as an unalterable and unstoppable information storage consensus algorithm. These are the first 2 layers of the onion.
