What makes Turks and Caicos so Attractive.
What Makes Turks and Caicos so Attractive..
With all that is going on with new products and services, nominations and accolades and even making unwanted lists, it is easy to forget why people find Turks and Caicos so appealing. The story of friendly people, pristine white sand beaches, blue hues of the waters, and luxury accommodations, is reiterated often. These are some of the reasons that makes the destination attractive, but in my opinion the key ingredient of what is most attractive is the coming together of partners, like our hotels, restaurants, water sports and service providing partners when and where necessary, to make a difference in the promotion and support of the destination. I give special thanks to the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association for how they have stepped up, when and where needed.

?Recognition for Destinations Within
In our last issue we talked about how Bambarra Beach had won the #2 slot, for best beaches in the Caribbean. We were pleased to see that although we love Providenciales and all that it has to offer, some attention is being paid to other areas of Turks and Caicos. Our position has always been, that each island, is a destination within the destination. We believe this is evident when you venture out to discover any other of the other islands in the Turks and Caicos.
?South Caicos
A new product and branded property is opening on South Caicos. The property is Salterra Resort and Spa, which is a Marriott Luxury Collection property, housed in the former East Bay Resort. I rarely see information published on South Caicos, although I believe the island to be among the most naturally beautiful in the country. South Caicos was initially referred to as our Fishing Capital, and while it still is very resourceful with seafood, the properties like Sailrock Resort and now the Salterra Resort and Spa, will make a tremendous difference to the livelihood of the wonderful and friendly community of ?South Caicos.
Other Notable Happenings
Turks and Caicos has been removed from the non-cooperative jurisdiction list and is now considered a friendly destination for financial services. This means that the country has complied with the EU’s?“tax good governance criteria, which include?tax transparency, fair taxation?and implementation of international standards designed to?prevent tax base erosion and profit shifting”. Turks and Caicos is a tax free country, with no capital gains, property or income taxes.
