What Makes a Positive Workplace For You?
Interestingly, "open and honest communication" was voted as being the most crucial factor when asked this question. I think many organisations underestimate the relation of "trust" within the workplace and what this really means.?
Openly sharing thoughts and ideas without fear of judgment or retaliation, in my opinion, creates trust. Having a foundation of trust promotes collaboration, increases engagement, prevents misunderstandings and miscommunications, creates learning from one another and resonance which in turn fosters innovation and contributes to company culture.
What's your experience??
Second in priority was recognition and appreciation. We all like to feel appreciated?and recognised, and at Altermans we try to tailor this to the people we have and encourage feedback around this. It's been pretty successful so far.??
Work life balance didn't feature so highly which I was surprised about. Is this maybe to do with the fact that since Covid people now have more opportunities for flexible working??
I had some private responses where people felt very strongly that many different factors contribute to a positive workplace and that it was impossible to pinpoint one.
