What makes the perfect home?

How many of us would say that we live in the perfect house? That’s just one of the questions we wanted to find the answer to when we commissioned a new study of homeowners in the UK.

Following a summer where we spent much more time in our homes than ever before, we wanted to drill down and find out how householders felt about their own homes, and how much it might take for us to finally feel that we’ve created the perfect home.

In our study of 2,000 homeowners, we found that it takes an average of five years to achieve the ‘perfect’ home after moving in – as well as roughly ￡26,000 in renovations. Just 38 per cent of UK adults feel they have achieved their dream abode, with the rest still working on their current property or planning to move.
