What Makes Our Calendar Feature A Pivotal Part Of Our Travel Tracker Application?

The App-Garden Travel Tracker application gives you an automated, streamlined process for tracking all of your transportation department's field and athletic trip needs. The Travel Tracker is a great tool to make your day as a transportation director run smoothly. One of our favorite features of the Travel Tracker is the calendar feature. Here are just a few of our calendar benefits:
- The calendar feature is a great planning tool from the end user's perspective. Teachers and coaches have visibility of all trips enabling them to better plan their next trip. Teachers and coaches are able to plan trips on days less traveled increasing the odds of getting a bus and driver for their chosen date.
- Date blocking is another useful part of the calendar tool. Your district is able to block dates on the calendar for things such as testing and holidays. Date blocking can be selective, allowing you to block a specific trip type such as blocking field trips but not athletic on a particular date.
- The calendar provides visibility for transportation to see trips that have been entered as a request but have not yet been approved. This allows them to plan ahead for vehicle and driver needs rather than waiting until the trip is approved.
- For a transportation director, the calendar is almost a working platform. They can use the calendar as a landing page to access the trips and to edit and make changes to things such as drivers and vehicles.
- To narrow things down, our calendar feature allows you to filter for by location, type of trip, type of vehicle or driver. When you choose one of these options, you can see all of the trips that have been scheduled for the entire month based on the selected criteria.
- Many districts keep a large screen view of the calendar open in the bus garage so that the mechanics can at a glance know when buses are scheduled or when they are available for maintenance.
- Want to know more? Simply hover over a calendar entry and see more details for the trip, including buses and drivers assigned.
- Calendar items from the Travel Tracker can be exported in order to load the information into your district or school calendar (such as a google calendar).
