What Makes LISW23 the Must-Attend Maritime Event of the Year?
London International Shipping Week 2025
London International Shipping Week. The must-attend global maritime event. #LISW25 15th - 19th September 2025
London International Shipping Week has cemented its place in the global maritime calendar over its five previous editions, but this September, as it celebrates its sixth biennial edition and 10th Anniversary, LISW will be far bigger and offer more variety than ever before.
But what exactly makes #LISW23 the must-attend event of the year? The week brings a huge array of opportunities, both for UK companies and for those flocking into London from all corners of the world. The event attracts new business and inward investment to the UK. It showcases the UK’s position as world leader in many areas of the shipping and maritime sectors. It demonstrates why the UK has a significant standing on the world stage, ranking #3 overall and #1 for green finance. And it shows that that the UK is a pioneer in areas such as green shipping corridors, training, and technological development.
LISW23 offers a golden opportunity for the industry leaders who come to London to interact with the UK government and secure unrivalled access to government and political leaders at key events such as the HM Government Reception at Mansion House on Tuesday 12 September, and at various other events during the week. For some of the biggest shipping companies, the main hook of LISW23 is that it enables key industry decision makers to meet key government decision makers, face to face and very often one a one-to-one basis. This is an invaluable and unrivalled benefit of LISW23.
LISW23 is a huge draw for foreign governments that are making the trip to London specifically for the event. National delegations from a string of important maritime nations, including the United States, Greece, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Gibraltar and Malta, are coming to LISW23 because they feel there is genuine value to attending and supporting the week.
For the UK Government, LISW23 offers the perfect opportunity to showcase the work it is doing in its ongoing delivery of #Maritime 2050, UK SHORE and other initiatives that it will be highlighting during the week.
Find out for yourself what makes LISW23 the must-attend event of the year and make sure that you make the most of it by visiting the ever-expanding LISW23 Event Calendar and registering for the events that you would like to attend. Most events are free of charge and open to everyone, but many will be subject to maximum attendance limits and will require advance registration.
