You can’t loosen your belt; stay safe and calm.

The mind-blowing occurrence happens when you have been asked some typical questions by others.

It flares up your mind. Isn’t it?

Now, are you an employee?

Oh, yay, isn't that making you smile deeply from your heart?

Why?

It gives meaning in your life.

Getting up on time, refreshing, eating, and then start moving towards work.

It may be at the office or at home.

The potential employment engagement starts even at the office or at home, like in remote areas, respectively. Now the companies are having wide choices to drive employees.

It gives multiple gains while making their team work remotely.

It paves the way for most of the companies that follow remote work or work at home after COVID-19.?

However, it is not applicable for all employment categories, irrespective of the position one possesses.

While reading or hearing the reality of life, it gives you goosebumps. A feeling of joy or mixed emotion due to the nature of the job.?

Oh yeah, it’s interesting to note.

While reading such notes at the start of the article, you should also ask yourself one important question. What??

That's, stay curious and know various options ahead of you.

Are you looking for some tips that you are curious to ask yourself?

While thinking this question yourself, your balls may start rolling in multiple directions to see what is going on. What is the real insight?

When you start floating your thinking, then you could get some ideas.?

The whole world looks for employment, and it gives an edge towards survival and then drives an inquisitiveness to extract the best out of it for career growth.

The best question to ask others about yourself is, How do you define an ideal employee?

It may mesmerize your thoughts to start spiking the thinking process.

Do you think it is based on professional behavior—work diligently, satisfying boss, best attitude, skills, knowledge, etc.?

Though the question looks small, it has its own intensity of depth in getting an explanation and its insights.

Let me quote from Einstein:

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”

An ideal employee can be defined as someone who embodies a combination of several qualities that contribute to both individual success and the overall success of the organization.

Have you ever thought the way Einstein said? ?

“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.”

There are some special qualities, and it often includes below SEVEN points:

1. Professional Behaviour:

  • Punctuality: Respecting time and meeting deadlines.
  • Reliability: Consistently delivering on tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ethics: Upholding strong moral principles, honesty, and integrity.

2. Diligence and Work Ethic:

  • Consistent Effort: Taking initiative, being proactive, and consistently working hard.
  • Attention to Detail: Being thorough in the completion of tasks.
  • Perseverance: Pushing through challenges and setbacks without giving up.

3. Positive Attitude:

  • Adaptability: Being open to change and new ideas, especially in dynamic work environments.
  • Resilience: Staying positive under pressure and handling stress effectively.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Working well with others, offering support, and contributing to a positive work culture.

4. Skills and Competence:

  • Technical Skills: Having the relevant technical expertise or trade skills required for the job.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying up-to-date with industry trends and being open to learning new skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Being able to think critically and find solutions to challenges.

5. Strong Communication:

  • Clarity and Precision: Clearly expressing ideas and expectations.
  • Active Listening: Understanding instructions, feedback, and perspectives of others.
  • Feedback Handling: Receiving and acting on constructive criticism professionally.

6. Cultural Fit:

  • Alignment with Company Values: Understanding and supporting the company’s mission, vision, and culture.
  • Teamwork: Being a team player who contributes to and enhances group dynamics.
  • Adaptability: Fitting into different work settings and with diverse personalities.

7. Satisfying the Boss/Leadership:

  • Meeting Expectations: Fulfilling or exceeding the expectations set by supervisors.
  • Trustworthiness: Gaining trust by consistently delivering results and maintaining integrity.
  • Constructive Input: Offering valuable insights or suggestions that benefit the team or company.

While it’s important for an employee to work diligently and have the right skills and knowledge, it's the combination of these traits that makes someone an “ideal” employee.

However, it is not an end of a road. You need to explore more and more to make you stay curious.

There are THREE QUALITIES to look at.

  1. Attitude,
  2. Adaptability, and
  3. Ability

The above three qualities will work well with others and often carry as much weight as technical competence. The ability to grow and contribute to a positive work culture can be as crucial as satisfying immediate goals.

Though you have been feeling such good qualities, there are some habits you possess that may be useful to nurture further if not done earlier.

Be Unique

What are the top three habits you possess?

An ideal employee typically possesses the following top three habits that set him/her apart:

1. Proactive Learning and Growth:

  • Habit: Continuously seeks out learning opportunities and ways to improve professionally and personally.

Why It Matters: In a rapidly changing world, an employee who prioritizes growth stays relevant, adds more value to the organization, and adapts to new challenges with ease. Whether through formal training, seeking feedback, or self-initiated learning, this habit keeps them at the forefront of industry trends and practices.

2. Consistency in Execution:

  • Habit: Delivers high-quality work consistently, managing time and priorities effectively.

Why It Matters: Reliability and consistency in completing tasks build trust within teams and with management. This habit also reflects a strong work ethic and discipline, which translate into steady performance and productivity.

3.Effective Communication:

  • Habit: Engages in clear, concise, and proactive communication with colleagues and superiors.

Why It Matters: Communication is key to teamwork, problem-solving, and aligning with the organization’s goals. Employees who frequently communicate, whether to clarify tasks, give updates, or address issues, help prevent misunderstandings and contribute to a smooth workflow.

These habits foster both personal success and the collective progress of the organization. They indicate a forward-thinking mindset, a commitment to excellence, and an ability to collaborate and lead effectively.

Is it necessary for you to please boss?

It is not necessary for an ideal employee to focus solely on "pleasing" his/her boss, but it is important to build a positive, professional relationship with his manager. Instead of focusing on pleasing, the emphasis should be on the below five traits:

  1. Meeting Expectations and Delivering Results:

  • The primary responsibility of an employee is to meet or exceed the expectations set by their manager and the organization. Consistently delivering results and fulfilling job responsibilities is more impactful than simply seeking approval.

2. Clear and Open Communication:

  • Effective communication with a boss is key to understanding goals, priorities, and areas for improvement. Employees should regularly communicate their progress, ask for feedback, and discuss ways to contribute more effectively.

3. Providing Value and Solutions:

  • An employee should focus on adding value to the team and organization rather than trying to please the boss through superficial actions. Offering constructive ideas, solving problems, and showing initiative are more valuable traits that can naturally earn respect.

4. Maintaining professional integrity:

  • Employees should maintain professional ethics and integrity, even if it means disagreeing with the boss at times. Constructive disagreement or providing a different perspective can help the boss make better decisions, which is more valuable than always agreeing just to stay in favor.

5. Respect and Collaboration:

  • Respecting the boss’s role and collaborating toward shared goals fosters a positive working relationship. It’s not about pleasing the boss but creating an environment of mutual respect and shared success.

Focusing solely on pleasing the boss can lead to short-term gains but may hinder long-term growth and innovation.

What does a boss expect from an employee?

He expects exceptional employees in his team. The team consists of more exceptional employees; following more or less the above traits could make him a successful leader.

It makes him to motivate further, and the team members will start shining at their respective positions. Though this statement is true, flipping the other side also has a difference of opinion.

The expectation differs from person to person. The ideal boss looks for an ideal employee. Then, it becomes mutually exceptional.

What makes an employee truly exceptional is that it has more insights than what you think.

An employee must practice a level-up game in his career. That’s why I have written this article with important points to go through. No one will learn all at the same time and in the same organization. It’s all time spent learning. That’s why mentoring becomes essential in life.?
